# clsPPDUnscheduledDegreeAwards

`clsPPDUnscheduledDegreeAwards` calculates the unscheduled PPD degree-award amount by walking banded degree ranges in the latest effective-dated award table and accumulating the amount, producing a `ProofItem`-based audit trail for each step (see [PPD award calculation](../../operations/ppd-award-calc.md)).

## Purpose
- Retrieves the unscheduled degree-award bands and selects the latest effective-dated table ([SQL-028](../../sql/SQL-028.md)).
- Walks the banded degree ranges, accumulating an award amount and appending a `ProofItem` per step to `CalcProof` for auditability.

## Behavioral notes
- `CalcProof` is populated only as a side effect of calling `GetAwardAmount`; it is not available before the calculation runs.

- Inspect `CalcProof` after calling `GetAwardAmount` to audit exactly how the total was derived across degree bands.
